My Last Christmas Card for 2014

Hi There!!

Well yesterday was Christmas Day here in Australia. We had a great day, and Ruby was so good, and so happy with all her presents from Santa - so YAY!!

The card I have to show today is the last one I made for 2014. Its for my secret Santa present which I had to send, a week or so ago.... I'm rather pleased with how it turned out:-)

I've used Tilda with the Trumpet from the Magnolia, Christmas stamp club, a few Memory Box dies, a doohickey die and a Spellbinder! My lace is from Live and Love Crafts along with the cute little heart and star pin. My flowers are mostly from Wild Orchid. My Papers are Maja. I've used Frantage and Perfect Pearls Sprays and some Stickles.

I hope you and your families all had a wonderful Christmas!!

Magnolia Down Under - Anything Goes

Hi There!!

Well how fast has the year gone? This is our last challenge of the year at Magnolia Down Under, and as usual it's a Anything Goes - so any last minute Christmas Cards or New Years or whatever your little creative fingers wants to make!

For my card I have used another new Tilda from the last collection. I coloured her up, and yep don't look to close, my colouring is lacking - but I guess it looks alright, just!

I have used Maja Design papers, white glittery card, lace and purple ribbon. My flowers have a touch of glitter snow. I have some tiny rusty bells, but they are kind of hidden a bit from the dark purple ribbon bow, looks better IRL! I have also sprinkled some pink frantage around my image, hope you all love my card as much as me:-)

See You all next year, and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and an awesome New Year. Magnolia Down Under Challenges will be back next year! We have some milestones to get too, a bunch of our DT will be hitting their 5 years on the Team, and the challenge itself will turn 6 WOW!!

Magnolia Down Under Challenges - Bingo!

Hey Everyone

Well its fast approaching the end of the year, and soon School will be out, and Christmas will be here!!  So I thought I better get a move on my Christmas Cards. I also thought, I should use my Magnolia Stamp Club Christmas Stamps, and Doo Hickey Club Dies before they gather too much more dust lol - I really haven't been that crafty this year...

So this theme at Magnolia Down Under is Tic Tac Toe or Bingo! All you need to do, is pick three things in a line off the game board and make your card accordingly.  Or you can use everything on the game board... I did... so much fun trying to make everything fit!

And here is the game board!!

So as you can see, I have Snow Flakes, a Tag, I've used the Masking Technique. I have Glittery card, Rusty Jingle Bells and my colour is Red and White!  I have used two snow flake Doo Hickey Dies, I've got Lace and Ribbon on there. My Paint is on the rusty bells, flowers, and a touch of barely there on the tag! Yep I've got it all covered!

So my Stamps - well Tilda is from the new collection. My Silent Night background is a stamp from years and years ago. I embossed it with some Old Gold Frantage, but I think I should have used a finer embossing powder, as it looks a little chunky! My flowers and holly are from Petaloo and my Paper is Kaiser Craft - North Pole. My cute tag is a chippy from Scrapmats!

Happy Crafting!!

Distressing at Magnolia Down Under

Hey Magnolia Fans

This fortnight at Magnolia Down Under, the theme is Distressing.  Yep those little tattered or inked up edges are what we are after!!

For my card, which I have just finished this morning, (as I have been SUPER busy and no time for crafting) I have made a CAS card... a very Clean and Simple card to be exact! but I am rather pleased with how it turned out.  My colouring is a bit rusty so my blending could be better, but it seems to look worse in the photo than in real life.... Oh well! I tried!

So here is my CAS card, I hope you love it as much as me:-)

Favourite Magnolia Stamp at Magnolia Down Under

Hi Everyone

Seems like forever since I posted on my blog... and I guess it was last month, so it has been a while! I seem to be only making one card a month now and it's for MDUC, which is ok because I love my Magnolia Stamps

Anyway, this fortnight theme is Your Favourite Magnolia Stamp.... so I have used a new favourite - Tilda with Maggie the Monkey.  This is actually the first time I have used her, BUT I adore all the gorgeous cards I have seen with this particular stamp, and I just had to have her for my collection, even though I don't get much chance to play with those hundreds of Magnolia stamps now. So I hope you love my card as much as I do

My Paper is Magnolia, and Prima scrap I found and used for my Chicken Wire die... the die is from My Favourite Things. My Leaf is a Doo Hickey and cut out with I think Graphic 45... another bit of scrap I had lying beside my Big Shot! My Postage stamps are just some wooden blocks that I picked up in London... a very LONG time ago.... I must go there again... to London that is LOL and of course Tilda and Maggie are coloured with my copics.  My Monkey turned out a little more Polka Dot than I wanted... I guess since I am not colouring as much my skills have dropped a bit.  But it still looks cute, and that's all that really matters right?

The pic isn't that great, and I couldn't take another as I had already given it!!

Hi There!!

This fortnight at Magnolia Down Under, we have an inspirational Photo for you to use!! It's such a great pic... anyway, as these pic's go, we just take our inspiration from them to make our card.

For my Card I have used some old stamps, my Tilda is from the Fairy Tale collection back in 2010... My sentiment is even older - Chasing Butterflies 2009 and the little Ink caps... my gosh, they are from the Halloween and Autumn Collection from 2008! Here is my card I hope you love it as much as me:-)

This is the Inspirational Photo!!  Isn't it great, just reminds me of Autumn, and Fairy's and of course sunshine:-) I hope you will find it appealing too:-)

Some Scrappy Pages

Hey there...

Just thought I would share a couple of scrap book pages I made.  The first is of Ruby at Ballet Class... the photo is rather dark, but still cute, it's also a recent photo!!

Here is Ruby with a rabbit that we came across at the Nursery... while I was looking for some plants, ruby was busy feeding the rabbit some grass. She did think the rabbit was pretty awesome!! So this is an old photo but not as old as some of the others I am yet to scrap.... I guess I will get there one day!

Hey Everyone

I am late with my Magnolia Down Under card this fortnight.... tsk tsk....

Anyway I have finally managed to get it finished this morning!! This fortnight's theme is Masking.  Masking is where you use two or more stamps to create a scene.  It's really easy if you haven't tried it before, and there is heaps and heaps of tutorials out there if you need!

For my card I have used one of the newbies from the Stamp Kit and the cute little Cat.  My tree is from an Easter collection from a few years ago.  Here is my card I hope you love it as much as me:-)

Doo Hickey Dies Only!!

Hey Everyone!!

It's time for a new challenge at Magnolia Down Under.  This fortnight's theme on the blog is Doo Hickey Dies Only.... no images!!

I tell you it really was so much fun playing with my dies, deciding on what I wanted to do!  So here is my tag, I hope you all love it as much as me:-)

I'll tell you a little about how I created my tag.  I used Water Colour paper for my orchids and Butterfly.  I then dabbled a little of Distress Ink on them in the middle and the edges... then spritzed with water.  I kept on going until I had the right amount of colour... started off with just a tiny bit and then built it up.  While my flowers and butterfly were drying, I shaped them.  Glued the flowers together and then I sprinkled a tiny bit of Old Gold Frantage in the middle.  I wanted the raised bumpy speckles in the middle.  I've tried using Liquid pearls before, but my dots end up massive and sooooo not what I wanted!! I also put a little frantage on the butterfly.

All my cuts are made with Magnolia Doo Hickey Dies. I really am so happy with how it turned out, and I am a little disappointed that the true colours didn't come out in the photo.  So I am seriously thinking of getting a Photo tent.... anyway....

We can't wait to see what you make with your dies, and don't forget that our brand new Facebook challenge is still running with the Sketch theme.

Happy New Year 2014!!!

Hey Everyone

I hope you had a fabulous New Year.... me I just watched the fireworks from Sydney on TV!! But still I loved it.... My favourite is the waterfall off the bridge, I am glad that they have it every year.

So 2014, I hope brings lots of joy.  Ruby is starting school in a few weeks, and I am a bit nervous about how she is going to go.. She will take it in her stride I bet, she loves school. I guess its hard for all parents, but I think just a bit harder for kids with special needs.

So in between now and then we are trying really hard to get her toilet trained, so far so good and I think she is starting to get the idea, which is great, because she has significant development delays, so it takes longer for her to learn some stuff, which is why we haven't tried before.... she just wasn't ready! I just wish some people who don't know the circumstance will keep their mouths shut - their comments are totally bulls*it, but thank goodness they are in the minority!

Anyway, I wanted to share a card I made yesterday, I was going to post it yesterday, but the laptop decided to go a bit nuts on me, so it took a little bit to get it shorted!

My card has Star on it from the Little Circus Moscow collection.  I finally received my stamps... took a while for them to get to me from the USA.  I have it hanging on my super cute Melissa Francis coat hanger that I got for Christmas from beautiful lady... Kylie... she was my secret Santa!  I have also used the little feather die doohickey which was also part of my pressie!! So here it is, I hope you all love it as much as me:-)

So there you go.... Magnolia Down Under Challenges is having a little bit of a break right now, but we will be back in a week or so, which some interesting and fun changes, new sponsors, and awesome challenge themes.... so stay tuned, our 5th year is going to be massive!!
