What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday

So its hump day or Wednesday and that means its time for a look at my work desk for WOYWDW !!!  So today its reasonably tidy because I'm just about to start my ATC card for Mad For Markers, which is in the post below if your interested in a looksee:-)

So I got my copics out along with the colour chart and the Colour Wheel Chart too, awesome tools they are!!

I use the Glass cutting mat as a palette for my Distress Inks, its just easy for me to use them that way!!

Hope your having a great day:-)

My First ATC

Well Hi everyone, today I have been busy playing with my new Copic's and I thought I would enter in the Mad for Markers Challenge which is to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card), and then send it to Mad for Markers for a Swap!!  Cool fun:-)  I've never made one of these before and gosh they are tiny!!  It measures 2.5" x 3.5".... so I hope who ever gets it will like my efforts:-)

Anyway seen so I'm bit new to Copics I thought I would try out some Feather Blending on the wings - which I don't think I got quiet right - but I reckon it still looks pretty good!!  Then I did normal blending on the body of the birdy - which is a Magnolia Image in case your wondering (one of the new ones I got last week).  I also used my Copic's on the cherry blossom to make it kinda match!! Added a bit of ribbon some glitter and some bling which is some of my favourite things to put on a card.  I would have put some Lace, but there isn't enough room!!!

Hope your all having a great Hump Day......

Hugs
Karen

Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge #3

Good Afternoon there Lil Lolita fans.  Its Thursday and just ticked over 5pm so that means its time for a new challenge at Lil Lolita Boutique.  This week we want you to make something with:

No Patterned Paper

Oooooo this might be a little tricky??  or easy peasy?? So much you can do to make your own Patterned Paper - the list is pretty much endless I reckon:-)  But if your feeling a little uninspired go and check out what my fellow Design Team Members have made, their stuff will totally blow you away!!!  go on its here

Here is my take on it - hope you like it!!!

So as you can see I've used Sweet, Ivy, on my card.  I've also used a bit of scrap fabric from my Quilting Stash!!  Cool Huh??  Anyway, you can see that I've given Ivy a puppy, she is from Penny Black and I've attached the two together with a bit of skinny ribbon.... awww how cute:-)

I've been having a bit of a fiddle with Photoshop and I managed to crop my pic and add a simple watermark!!  Very impressed with myself:-)

Now get crackin' and make a card with no patterned paper, can't wait to see what you all make!!!!

my ingredients:
Paper:  Stampin' Up Kraft, Pink Cardstock
Embellishments: Moda Fabric, Pink Ribbon Mesh, Black Tassel Ribbon, Skinny Pink Ribbon, Stampin' Up Bookplate & Brads, Martha Stewart Punch, Kaiser Bling, Moonlight & Taffy Smooch, Kindy Glitz, Machine Stitching.
Colours: Water Coloured with Distress Inks, Zig Pen, Gold Gel Pen
Stamps: Lil Lolita - Ivy available from Tickled Pink Stamps,  Penny Black Puppy, Stampin' Up Sentiment

Just Magnolia #60 In the Garden

Well Hi everyone, over the weekend I have been making this little card.  Yes unfortunately it has taken all weekend but not because I'm slow.... I've been chatting too much with my new friends..... especially Blondie and Pattycake and not to mention just about everyone else in both MDUC and Lil Lolita Boutique DT Groups.... Phew.... But in all that chatting, Kylie aka Blondie told me how to do the Silk Paper technique with Tissue Paper, so I thought I better give it a try - because really its just so fantastic!! I hope I did it justice Blondie:-)

Just Magnolia has an In the Garden Theme... sweet.... I immediately thought of my Ladybug Tilda and the accessory stamp Ladybug.... too super cute!!  So here they are - hope you like my garden:-)

Paper: Stampin' Up Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Tissue Paper

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #51

Well it's Sunday and that means that there is another new challenge happening at Magnolia Down Under.  This week its another fantastic challenge, and it's:

embossing

Now your embossing can be hot or cold its up to you!!  So if you have embossing powders or Cuttlebug folders get them out and have some FUN!!   WOW.... It has been so long since I did embossing, well heat embossing that is!! And because I hadn't done that for so long, I thought that I would do that instead of using the Cuttlebug folders!! So I have used the old gold embossing powder on my Magnolia Butterflies which are scattered across my card,   Sweet huh?

I decided that I needed to come up with some more fancy pants base cards, so this is what I come up with, I guess its a bit of a twist on a gate fold!!  This week I also really wanted to use my Ballerina Tilda - isn't she just sooooooo sweet???  Anyway my DH came up with a fab idea to kinda make her like a pop-up..... It sorta worked!!  I guess there's lots of room for improvement here, but thanx for the great idea:-)

So this is my card folded up, its a bit bulky - and not something you would shove in an envelope and stick in the post, my golly gosh, I reckon it would be totally trashed before it got to its destination!!

And this is it folded out, pretty cool huh?  I think I'm bit of a smarty pants with this one!! hehehehehe

Here we have a few more pic's at different angles so you can see all the bits and bobs I used!!

Paper: Stampin' Up Soft Suede Card stock, Webster's Patterned Paper (YUM)
Embellishments: Maroon Sheer Ribbon, Green Sheer Ribbon (Stash) i am roses: cherry blossoms, Prima Swirly Bits, Prima Butterfly Pebble, Kaiser Bling, Kindy Glitz, Moonlight Smooch, Gold Embossing Powder, White Gel Pen
Stamps: Magnolia Tilda Ballerina - Fairytale Collection 2010, Butterflies - Chasing Butterflies Collection 2009
Colour: Water Coloured with Distress Inks

When I first saw this yummy cake, I thought.....ooooooooooo where's the knife??  anyway I decided that I would use Cream, Pink and Choc.... the colours, which I guess you could say that this pic is my inspiration for a bunch of other cards that I've been making over the past week or so!! I also really liked the pink roses so I chucked some of them on too, Oh and don't forget the cake itself of course!!

I have used the very cheeky Evie on my card this week.  She's so purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrfect isn't she? and she is my favourite, well for this week anyway!! hehehehehe

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #36

Well the other day I came across a new challenge blog The Sugar Bowl, that I thought I would like to have a little play in!!.  I've had my little Sugar Nellie stamp for a while now, and she is heaps of fun to colour but now she gets to play at a challenge so that's pretty fun!! Oh btw her name is Gorjuss - Purrfect friend.  She has a super cute cat too, but he didn't quite go with the final look - poor puss:-( So head on over to The Sugar Bowl and check out the sweetness the Design Team has made!!  So Inspirational:-)

Anyway - as I said in my previous post - I'm just a bit into the choc, pink and cream so I've gone for that again, except this time my pink is a bit darker - more maroon I guess!!

And this week was to follow Lilian's sketch.  So you can see I kinda switched bits around and added some of my embellishments, because that me I guess - I love embellishments!!! So this is the sketch:

Paper: Stampin' Up Cardstock and Papers
Embellishments: Stampin' Up Hat Pin with Crystals and Pearls from their Pretties Kit.  Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Kasier Pearls, i am roses cherry blossom, Lace and Sheer ribbon from my stash. Oh and a bit of Kindy Glitz or Stickles (same thing really but mines called Kindy Glitz), Zig Black Pen, White Gel Pen
Colour: Water coloured with Distress Ink
Stamp: Sugar Nellie Stamps - Gorjuss Purrfect Friend

Kraftin' Kimmie #32

Well today I have a card that I've made for the Tricky Triangles at Kraftin' Kimmie.  I've used Charlotte, I so love her, she's so quirky!!

I stained a bit of White Ribbon Mesh, with Tea Dye ink so give it a bit more of a shabby look, and then stuck the button on, because I thought it was looking a bit to plain jane..... I'm really into Choc, Pink and Cream of late so I guess you might be seeing a few more cards with this yummy colour theme.  My background paper in the photo looks kinda black - but its actaull really dark choc brown..... oh well.  Cards never really look so good in photo's as what they do in real life.  I wish I had a camera with a glitter feature!! hehehehe But I'm sure we all want a camera with a glitter feature on it wouldn't we!!

Anyway off to do some fancy pants crafty card making..... well hopefully anyway!!

Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge #1 WOOHOO

OMGOSH this is just so exciting!!!  Today is the day that our fabulous brand new challenge starts at Lil Lolita Boutique, so if you have a Willow, Lilith, Evie, Lylah or Ivy Stamp, then what are you waiting for - come and join in all the fun:-) And get ready because this is a Mammoth of a blog post!!!

We are having so much fun getting to know each other at Lil Lolita Boutique, we thought that it would be fantastic to have a Blog Hop to celebrate..... YAY..... how exciting is that???  So if you have just landed on my blog, you need to go to the start which is at the very talented Amy's blog, but if you have come from fabulous Jackie's blog then your on the right track!!!

There is 5 of these Lil Lolita ladies in store at the moment at Tickled Pink Stamps (with more floating their way across the ocean, to Kellie's house) so check them out if you haven't done already!!

Its a ripper of a challenge this week, actually its a rather easy one.....

ANYTHING GOES.....

so cool!!  All you have to do is make sure you have a Lil Lolita Stamp on your creation and your in!! Just link your blog post!!  Can't wait to see what you all have made, and you can be sure that I'll be checking it out!!

Ooooooooooooo I can't wait:-)

Well now on to my card...  I have tried to do something a little different.  Well it's different for me!!  I've used a piece of Acetate as the base of my card, then I drew some squiggly lines with a Zig Photo Writer pen - because that's all I had to make permanent thin black lines:-)  I then soon discovered that I could use a Copic pen to colour in between those squiggles!!  How fab.... I was excited.  But Alas..... my Copic sort of smudged or erased my black line..... arrrgh so much for being permanent.  Then I went over it, but it didn't look as good as it did first time around..... Oh well.....  I guess I better go on the hunt for a permanent black fine line pen that doesn't dissolve with a Copic!!!  I'm also going to enter my card into the Oh Alice Challenge this week which is what's your muchness..... well mine has got to be fab stamps, butterflies and trims!!  Love it:-)

And this is the back, so you can see that I stuck a piece of Vanilla cardstock there for the message, but also it covers up the tape and what not from the front..... 'cause it's see through!!  And because it's a see though type of card I thought I would pop on one of my fantastic personalised stamps, I even coloured the flowers with the Copic..... very fancy pants if I do say so myself:-)

And here's a little close up of my Willow!! Don't your just love her?? Don't you just want her in your house???

Now to very important blog hop information!! To continue on with your hoppy hop... you need to hop on over to Kellie and see what a totally fantastic card she has made!!! Kellie is such a smarty pants crafter I sooooooo love her all of her gorgeous work!!! and I just wish I could pop comments on there for her to read, but unfortuantely it doesn't wanna be nice and let me..... But Kellie, just about everything you pop on your blog I read, and all your cards are just so gorgeous girl!!!  Just know that I'm there in spirt if not in comments!! hehehehe

So before you go don't forget to leave a comment, because there is some yummy candy hidden amongst the Design Team, so to have a chance at winning you have to leave a comment on everyone's blog!!  Good Luck:-)

This is what I used for my card:
Paper: Acetate, October Afternoon - Fly a Kite, Jenni Bowlin Choc Dots, Stampin' Up Vanilla Cardstock

WOYWW #53

Well Hi everyone, this is my first time at What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday!!  What a cool idea!!  Anyway here is my kinda messy desk - actually its not to bad - there's a big space still available to craft at!!  The box along the wall with the 9 boxes in it is where I keep all my Distress Inks.  I only picked that up a couple of months ago and then got to decorating it!!  I use a big glass cutting mat to put my distress inks on so I can pick up the colour with my water brush. You can't see the rest of the mess which is at the end of the desk where, Mount Delicious Paper, is, its behind Mr Cricut!!  My desk it kinda big which is really good.  But all the drawers are chockers..... there just isn't enough room.  I also have a big chest of drawers which is over flowing of scrappy goodies, but you can't see that either. Oh well!!

Have a Happy Crafty Week!!!

Tickled Pink Stamps Ribbon Challenge

Well the past couple of days I've been making this card, it hasn't been that I've been slow - just a bit on the sick side.... so anyway I thought I would show you my creation.  I'm not too sure about my colouring of this luscious Lylah Lil Lolita but that happens doesn't it!! Its her hair really, it was just a tad on the bright side, but its orange so you would expect that!!  Anyway since I didn't like it much, I smothered it with some Transparent Smooch called Illuminate - Smooch is fun have you seen it??  Comes in a little bottle that looks awfully like nail polish - super cute and sparkly:-)

I also loved Kylie Brown's tut on ribbon scrunching (here) that I really wanted to try it.  I'm pleased with how the final card turned out..... still not too sure about my colouring - maybe I just need have another go at Lylah, it usually takes a few tries before I figure what works best!! I think the parcel should have been pink instead of purple.... oh well!!

I actually coloured Lylah up last week when my friend Mel came to play for the day hehehehe.... Mel wanted me to show her how I coloured with Distress Inks because she hadn't seen them used before, and I think she may have gotten a little be hooked on them!!  as well as the Lil Lolita's:-)

So here is my kinda funky card.  Her eyes are meant to be green but they turned into something rather evil looking.... hehehehe

This is Melissa colouring away!!! It was heaps of fun - hope we can do it again soon:-)

Paper: Stampin Up Tangerine Tango, Basic Grey, October Afternoon
Embellishments: i am roses - flowers & leaves, Sam & Lucy teeny tiny stickers, Kindy Glitz, Smooch - Illuminate (on her hair), Brads, Kaiser Black Bling, Stampin Up Ribbon, Crystal Effects (on those evil eyes)
Colour: Water Coloured with Distress Inks, Smooch - Moonlight on the parcel
Stamps: Lylah Lil Lolita from Ticked Pink Stamps
