Christmas Witches

Hi and Welcome to another awesome week at Paper Play Challenges.  This week, the theme is Halloween/Witches.... mmmmmmmmm well I kinda made a little boo boo and thought that the theme was Witches with a Hat.... mmmmmm OOPS and just because I don't celebrate Halloween, I though it would be cool to make a Merry "Witches" Christmas Card (get it) Anyway.... I'm a bit of a duffa, but here is my Christmas Witches card:-)

Zoe from Make it Crafty is sponsoring this week, awww sweet Zoe!!!.  I was able to meet Zoe the other weekend and she is so lovely!!! Anyway I've used one of Zoe's cool little houses - Mushroom House to go with my Ragdoll Witch which is from Saturated Canary.... I think they look pretty cute together don't you??

But now that I'm looking at my card I think my little witches didn't need a ' between the e and the s.... Oh dear.... please forgive my poor poor spelling!!!

So I'm looking forward to seeing your witchie cards... and hey who knows maybe you are inspired to make a Christmas Witches one like me LOL....

Stamps: Make It Crafty Mushroom House, Saturated Canary Ragdoll Witch, Stampin' Up Merry Christmas Stamp - and I just stamped the Merry!.
Dies: Whiff of Joy Tag and Nestie
Embellishments: Stampin' Up Ribbon, Liquid Pearls, Kaiser Craft Bling, Stickles, Rub-ons for Witches
Colour: Copic and Atyou Spica Clear

A Sympathy Card

I'm not to sure on where to start so I'll just get straight to it.... We had some awful news the other day about a fellow blogger and dear friend's precious 2 month old baby grand daughter who passed away from SIDS... I can only imagine what they all must be feeling right now, especially our friend's daughter - I can only describe it as being an absolute nightmare.... I do wish I could scoop them all up and give them a hug, just to let them know that we are all thinking of them, and that we care so much.

Our friend as you may know, is a big Magnolia fan, so for my card after much much throught, I thought the beautiful magnolia tree and small Hummingbird would be just right. I've never made a sympathy card before and I guess I know my card won't make things easier for them, but it's just my way of saying I'm here and I'm thinking of you all, throughout this devastating time.

A Very Special Birthday Card!!!

Hi Hi Everyone!!

One of my friends asked me to make a very special Birthday card for a lady she knows, who is going to be 100!!! OMGOSH, I can tell you I am very honoured to make such a special birthday card, I mean as a card maker how often do you actually get to make a card for someone who is turning 100??? WOW...

Anyway I thought about it for a while, and I decided that Watercan Tilda would be perfect standing in front of the cute garden door!!  I decided to make a round card instead of a square, because I don't make round ones very often!!!

So here it is, I'm very pleased with how it turned out, I just hope my friend loves it too:-) And of course the very special lady who will receive it:-)

I'm entering my card into this week's TOMIC challenge which is Bingo.  I have the cloud Doo Hickey, a Butterfly and a Magnolia Accessory Stamp!!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my creation:-)

Stamps: Magnolia Sweet Rainbow Collection - Watercan Tilda and Root Cellar Door. Magnolia Autumn Collection - Happy Birthday
Dies: Magnolia Doo Hickey Die Cloud and Key, and Marianne Designs for the card base
Embellishments: Wild Orchid Craft Seam Binding Ribbon and flowers. Stickles, Rub-ons, Whiff of Joy String, Pearls and Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch.
Colour: Copic

A Place for all those Crafty Die's

Hi everyone, I wanted to show you how I have my Spellbinder Nestablilities and my Magnolia Doo Hickey's stored.... I must say after switching to my new system I was concerned that the dies would fall out as I turn the page - but nope they don't.  So I guess it's a success!!!!!!

Before switching, they were all in like a box in CD and DVD cases but they kept on falling out and going everywhere!! So annoying.  Anyway I was floating around in some online shops recently and I found some 12 x 12 album page protectors which had been divided up into 4 sections of 6x6... SOOOOOO naturally I put some in a cart and checked out.... I got them from HERE   Once I got my pages I went to my local, scrap shop, and bought a cheap 12 x12 3 ring binder album to put them in.....

I also have my dies in little flat plastic CD pockets... it just helps besides I had a bunch already labeled from the CD and DVD era (I started using these little pockets because I didn't have any more CD or DVD cases left!!!) So here is a pic of some nesties:

I was a little concerned when I came to a bunch of Whiff of Joy boarder dies, but I stuck them on a piece of magnet and slipped them in, that was a cool idea and works well.  Some of my Marianne D die's are too big for the CD pocket so they are just loose in the page pocket...

For the bigger Doo Hickey Boarder Dies however the solution was a little different because they had to go on a bit of a diagonal to fit in the the pocket... but so far so good, haven't had anything fall out yet!!!

My little pockets are also great for those Cuttlebug embossing dies, in fact I now have all my embossing folders stored with my dies.  I've put some of the bigger embossing folders in the bottom 2 pockets... otherwise they would be sticking out of the top of the album...

So I hope this idea has helped solve maybe a die storage problem for you.  It isn't actually MY idea I did see it somewhere else, but there is nothing like sharing:-) I'm actually on the hunt for Craft Room Storage ideas... I have a few already but more would be appreciated. So what's your best storage solution for any thing you have in your room/space????????

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #119

Good Morning

Well last weekend I had an absolute blast staying at Debbie P's house.  We went to the picture to page show at Burwood, and we were so lucky to finally meet Bronwen Beekman, Zoe Mitch from make it Crafty and of course Bronlyn from Shop Bron.  We had so much fun on Saturday night.. OMG...

Anyway during the Show, Zoe desperately needed a break so while she was on a break, Debbie and I took over the colouring table.... i was funny to hear what people were saying... oh look at that.... they are using Copic's.... oh that is soooo complicated... wow aren't they talented... (talk about getting a big head!!) anyway.... the image I coloured is now on a card for this week's magnolia Down Under Challenge - the theme being: Getting Punchy.... so you can use your punches and Dies.  Here is my Christmas Card, hope you like it:-)

Zoe, had brought a bunch of her own Copic's with her for the Melbourne show, anyway they were completely different colours to what I would normally use, so it was great fun, using something different and stepping out and away from the normal.  I also found that Zoe uses any old colour with her colouring and tends not to stick to colour families, which is what I've been doing - BORING... so now that I know it's OK to use any old colour, and it will still blend perfectly... watch out!!! I also learned that it is very important to start with the lightest colour first.  it makes it easier to blend.  Well I didn't know that one... I always go darkest first then middle colour and then lightest over the top.... hahahahah still worked, but I now see it's much easier the other way.  It was cool watching other people do their stuff, I actually learnt quite a few tips and tricks!!

So as always we can't wait to see your inspirations for us this week.  I bet we will be seeing more and more Christmas cards from now on... isn't the newest collection just divine!!! Oh my!!!

Till next time bye bye

Fancy A Cupcake?

Happy Thursday Everyone!! Over a Paper Play we have another cool challenge for you to play along with, this week's theme is: Cupcakes!!! Yum Yum Yum

So this week I have made a cute paper cupcake!! I started off with a foam ball, which I covered with choc ribbon which I gathered up.  I then put flowers all over it, and made my cupcake paper out of Magnolia Paper.  I scored it at 1/2" intervals.  I think 1/4" would have been better, but oh well!! My tag is a Magnolia Doo Hickey cloud tag and I've also used one of the cute key's.  My Tilda is Tilda with Cloud berry Muffin... I think she looks great with my cupcake!!!!

Here, is a pic of the tag and key along with Miss Tilda

I'm looking forward to seeing your creations, I know I say it every time, but without your creations my inspiration would be rather lacking!!! So thanks everyone:-) Oh and this week's sponsor is Little Darlings:-)
