Modern Vintage Scrapbook Page

OMGosh how I love these new Prima Papers, they are so divine!! I picked up a bunch at my Local Scrapbooking Shop in Devonport - Bev's Cross Crafts. I was so surprised, normally there isn't a great deal of fancy new stuff like this (except for Kaiser Paper which is absolutely everywhere in the shop) So after reading one of the new Scrapbooking mag's that I picked up the other day (along with the papers) I learned that this type of paper you use for Modern Vintage. I love the look, I think I could do I whole album:-) I normally don't do "vintage" because it looks so old, (perfect for "very old" photos) but I love the new twist - as in more colours!! I took a few extra photo's because its a bit hard to squeeze it all in on one!!
This frame I think I've had for like 6 years - since I first starting Scrapbooking. I can't believe I finally, finally used it. Took me forever to find it too in the mountains of stuff, but I new I still had it somewhere:-)

Paper: Prima
Embellishments: Scrap FX Chipboard Bird, Metal Frame - so old I can't remember who's it from, Stampin' Up Flower, Stampin' Up Hat pin & beads, Magnolia Down Under Lace, Ribbon Trim, Making Memories Sticker, Delish Rub-ons, Making Memories Rub-ons, K&C Company Die cut Tag, Zig Pen, Prima Flowers, Paper Chic pearl stickers, DMC Thread, Cloud 9 Design Sticker, Glimmer Mist Pearl & Cranberry Zing

Look what I got today from Lisa!! She is just to sweet:-) I think I'm meant to pass this on to 10 of my followers, but because I have only 9 you can all have one!!! 'cause your all great:-)

Now I'm meant to write 10 things about me so here it goes:

  1. I love my little family they are everything to me!!
  2. I love Craft - Scrapbooking, Card Making, Quilting, Cross Stitch, Knitting!!
  3. I don't like cooking tea:-)

The Pink Elephant #59

So this week The Pink Elephant has a sketch challenge. Here is my take on it. I've used a lovely paper doily which, Kellie has very kindly given me a heap of samples. This one is my fav' because its so lacy:-) The Doilies are coming soon to Magnolia Down Under Store, which is having a little face lift starting the 1st April. So I'm sitting at my computers edge for that..... so exciting:-) Not much happening today, just staying at home and *trying* to do some spectacular card making - this image is about the 4th attempt and I'm happy that I managed not to stuff this one up too much:-)Paper: Stampin' Up Card, My Minds Eye, and Scrap from Stash
Embellishments: Buttons, Ribbon, Paper Doily, Cotton, Kindy Glitz, White Gel Pen, Zig Pen
Colours: Water Coloured with Distress Inks
Stamps: C.C Designs

MDUC #38 & Just Magnolia #47

This week is a Sketch at Magnolia Down Under, which I changed just a little bit because I wanted to make an Easel card for the Just Magnolia!! So the little sentiment is at the bottom. So I hope you all like my card!!

So one of my besties bought a new big Cricut on the weekend, off eBay in US saved herself about $400AUD what a bargain!! She has the original one already which is you know... is little. So now she has two, I haven't even got one!! *I'm going a dark shade of green I think* Its a pity she has moved, its just a tad to far to go and just cut something out!!! So I'm thinking about getting one myself (only because I can't stand being green LOL) but I'm a little unsure of how much use it would actually get? I already have a Bigshot which I don't really use that much or as often as it could be, so would a Cricut be the same?? Decisions, Decisions:-) This is this weeks sketch:

and here's a close up of my water colouring with Distress Inks.... still having a few problems with it bleeding, and getting it to "shade" like I want!! (and I can't stay within the lines very well which is making it harder still LOL!!!)
Paper: Stampin' Up Kraft, Bazill, Basic Grey - Nook & Pantry
Embellishments: Flowers from Magnolia Down Under Store, Buttons, Ribbon, not so good machine stitching (LOL), Crystal Effects, White Gel Pen.
Stamps: Magnolia Ladybug Tilda Raising The Ceiling Collection 2010 & Stampin' Up
Colours: Water Colour with Distress Inks

Bizzy Bec Challenge 8

So what an awful day it is outside today!! But I guess that means that its fantastic weather for playing inside!! So over at Bizzy Bec's the challenge is: Create Something with your "Favorite Drink" in mind (hot or cold). So I recently got some Digi's from Pixie Dust, which are Alice in Wonderland themed. (very cool) so I thought I would print one out and give it a go. Never used Digi's before, so I was a bit worried that the ink from the printer would run - so I heat set it, but I could have given it just a tad more, because the ink did run just a tinsy bit!! I'm also wishing my water colour paper was a bit thicker, because I was having trouble getting my inks to do what I wanted them too, still getting the hang of them I guess is what the problem is!! I used what I had in A4 to stick in the printer because the majority of paper I have is only tiny, maybe next time I'm in Launceston I can get the thicker stuff which will work heaps better I think:-) I was also going to enter in the Just Magnolia Challenge - which has a sketch this week, so I used their sketch, but then realised I couldn't enter anyway because I haven't used a little Magnolia stamp - oops!! Paper: Basic Grey, October Afternoon, Kraft, Brown
Embellishments: Ribbon, Lace, Wood Button, String, Zig Pen, Kindy Glitz and Crystal Effects
Colours: Distress Ink

MDUC #37 & The Pink Elephant

Finally a card that didn't take me all day to make, but the real reason is because Ruby has been a bit of a sleepy head today... LOL... so this is what I've achieved!! So this week is Birthday week at Magnolia Down Under, so check it out!! The theme was to make a birthday card. Cool. So I did that, and I got to use my super cute cupcake paper from Basic Grey (Nook & Pantry). This week also I'm going to have an entry in The Pink Elephant. The theme there is "Spring" so I thought my Happy Tilda with the background would look really cute, and would fit for that theme too:-) Thanks for checking out my card!! Paper: Basic Grey Nook & Pantry, Stampin' Up Card

Embellishments: Prima Flowers, Buttons, Stampin' Up Very Vanilla Ribbon, Kindy Glitz, Zig Pen

Stamps: Magnolia Happy Tilda & Summer Background, Stampin' Up

Colour: Distress Ink, Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip Ink

Its a great day!!

Well, I got my wheel back for my Pram - and guess what? it was actually a whole new Wheel, which was very surprising because they told me that they didn't have any spare parts - which is so dumb - how many people have that type of pram? must be huge. I know of 4 other people who have a Strider, and have problems with the wheel.

So Magnolia Down Under Challenge is having its very 1st Birthday!! So Happy Birthday Kellie, and wishing you many more to come!! and to celebrate there's a Birthday Blog Hop with heaps of candy on offer - so check it out HERE!!!

Ok so now I better go and make my entry for this weeks challenge - Birthday's. The Pink Elephant's challenge is Spring - so I think I can get both of them into the one card!! Have a great day!!

MDUC #36

So this week's challenge at Magnolia Down Under was a recipe. We had to use: 3 Papers, 3 Flowers, 2 Buttons and 1 Bow. I'm sure I got it all covered!! So I thought about it for a while, and decided to use my "new" Farm Fresh papers from October Afternoon - so yummy (they have been around for a while, but I only just got my hands on 'em) so after I had picked my papers I then coloured my Tilda and got decorating!! Its a Gate Fold card which I got the instructions by following the link on Kellie's blog, to another blog - can't remember your name, but the instructions were fantastic and very funny - apparently I'm a bodger!! I love how it has turned out even if it did take me forever to do it (with Ruby interrupting me) So this week's prize is from Anna's Craft Cupboard one of my Favourite shops!! My shopping cart is always full:-)
This is what the inside looks like:-)
Paper: October Afternoon Farm Fresh (3), Cardstock, Paper Doily.
Embellishments: Making Memories: Flowers (3) Buttons (2) Stampin Up Ribbon Bow (1), Brads, Kaiser Craft Bling & Rub ons, Zig Pen.
Colour: Distress Ink.
Stamps: Magnolia Chasing Butterflies Collection: Tilda with Ladybug, Ladybug. Stampin' Up, Cutting Cafe Digi Stamp.

Ruby's Scrapbook

Well I've finally done another page for Ruby's Album, its got 7 Pages in it now, and a life time of more pages yet to come. How cool is this, Ruby will be able to look back at when she was growing up and see all the things we see, and how much we cherish her:-) So my layout actually has a book page in it. I got the book the other day at the second hand bookshop in town - while I was on the hunt for paper doilies, anyway it was only cheap, but today when I actually started ripping out a few pages I was looking over my shoulder for my mum with a big fat wooden spoon. I felt so naughty ripping up a perfectly good book!! oh well its ruined now so the only thing for it is to use it in my scrap pages!!
Paper: Bo Bunny and Book Page
Embellishments: Making Memories brad, Kaiser Craft wooden butterfly, Prima flowers, other brads, Heidi Swapp journal spot, zig pen.

MDUC #35

So today I went into Devonport to see if I could find some paper doilies - I did find some, but they were massive and not what I was after. But what really *annoyed* me (venting now) the most was I had to go to Stork Talk - our local Baby shop which is a fantastic shop by the way - about my Pram - which is not even 12 months old. The wheel keeps on coming loose and is always loosing screws (have to take a screw driver with me every where now)- it almost fell off one day, anyway the distributor said that Stork Talk would have to send my wheel away to them to get fixed, when really what I need is a brand new wheel but because they don't import that type of pram anymore I don't get a replacement part! So I'm worried that it going to be a botch job on a dodgy wheel, and its going to happen again in a couple of months - then what?? but what am I to do? So I'm not going to have my Pram for the next few weeks..... lucky the baby shop does have Loaner Prams - but still soooooooooooo peeeved!!! How can a company sell prams that come with a warranty and not have spare parts?????? Its not even 12 months old! In fact it hasn't even been used for 6 months yet (well almost) So angry.

So here is my entry for Magnolia Down Under - and this week was an actual challenge. the Theme is Easter. Oh my!! what was I to do???? I've never made an Easter card before, but after a little bit of thinking this is what I come up with. Hope you cant see where I made the ink run - I'm still getting used to using these distress inks, but I tend to have the colour run on me all the time - darn it - I guess I'll just have to practice some more LOL.....

Paper: Basic Grey, Kaiser Craft, October Afternoon, Stampin' Up Kraft Stamps: C.C Designs - Leisel and Wheel barrow, Magnolia Shabby Fence & Dot Butterfly, Stampin Up Loads of Love accessories.
Embellishments: Lace, Kaiser Bling, Prima Flower, Button, Stampin' Up Clip and String.
Colours: Distress Inks, and Black Ink, Zig Pen.

Just Magnolia Challenge

oh my how cold was it this morning?? Summer is over and Autumn is here.... even my tree out the front is loosing its leaves!! So here is my entry for Just Magnolia. This week the theme was "Birthdays" too easy really - especially when every other card I make is for a Birthday. This afternoon Ruby and I are heading out to our Mum's Group, should be fun. Ruby loves to see all the other Babies (I do too). No doubt they have a bunch of new tricks to show off:-) Paper: Stampin' Up Kraft, Kaiser Craft Patterned Paper, Paper Doily, Blue Card Stock
Embellishments: Flowers, Buttons, Stampin' Up Ribbon, Glitter and Kindy Glitz, White Gel Pen, Zig Pen.
Colour: Distress Inks
