Magnolia Down Under Challenge #157

Hi and Welcome Everyone!!!

It's time for another awesome new challenge at Magnolia Down Under and this week - we challenge you to Make or Alter a gift box!!!!  These are always so much fun!!

So for my box I've cut a gable box from my Tags, Boxes and More 2 Cricut Cartidge and decorated it up with some so yummy Magnolia paper from the newest collection - Turning Leaves.... mmmm so do you have a favourite from that collection?  well if your like me - I guess it's all of them LOL

I've used Tilda with Daisy's and Mushrooms for this one, I think the daisy's look so perfect with the magnolia paper... I've coloured them somewhat the same but touched them up with some red 35 and 39 to give them a bit of a sunburnt orange look... came out rather well if I do say so myself!! hehehehe

Awww isn't she cute!! I actually am rather fond of this little box so I doubt that I will be giving it away... sorry.... I'm going to put it in my new craft room - which has been painted a very pretty blue this week!!! Here is a side shot....

Mmmm yummy Magnolia Papers!! Pauline I don't know how you keep coming up with all these gorgeous things... but I'm grateful - I love all things Magnolia!!!

So if you would like to see what the rest of our delicious design team have for you this week then go and check out our blog!!!  Can't wait to see what you make!!!

Circles at La La Land Crafts!!!

Hi there everyone!!

So last week we had the magnificent CHA showcase release at La La Land Crafts.... OMGOSH there is some cute stuff isn't there!!! have you been and bought yours yet???

So this week at La La Land Crafts we are running around in circles... hahaha no not really - but Circles is the theme this week!!

For my card this week, I've actually made a hanger for my daughter Ruby.  She loves it - and I must say I love that she loves it!! So here it is....

Awwwww how cute - and very tissy - but she does love it, so there you go!!  I've used Rose Faerie Marci, which was released last week, and Also some brand new dies are on this one too, I've used the wings which come with both sides, so you don't have to try and reverse the die cut to get 2 halves.  I've doubled up on the wings to make it a bit more extravagant... as you can see below in the close up!!

So I have added heaps of little bits and bobs, mainly from Prima with the flowers, and resin bird.  I've also got some cheese cloth, pearls and buttons in there.  Behind Faerie Marci you can see the Tulip Boarder Die better!!  it really is gorgeous, and a must for your collection I think!!

From the bottom of my hanger I have a wee birdhouse.... heheheh so cute, I've cover it with my paper and stuck on some pearls, some buttons, a Make it Crafty Chip board heart and a little bird which I painted with white crackle paint!

Here is a pic of the side, I've used a boarder die to create the "tiles" on the birdhouse roof - so cute!!

So there you go, hope you will come along and play in the Customer gallery - you just might be this months lucky winner!! And if you want to check out all the new stuff at La La Land Crafts then click HERE

Stamp: Rose Faerie Marci

Christmas in July!!!

Jingle Bells, Jingles Bells, Jingle all the Way....

Well it's a little way off yet, but this week at Paper Play we are celebrating...

Christmas in July!!

So time to get out your Chrissy papers, and embellishments and make some Christmas cards!!  My card this week is actually part of a set that I made for a magazine... it has been turned down.... but that could change... so if you don't see the pic below then it's been accepted!! (not likely though)

I haven't used an image for this, I used a cute wooden reindeer which is made by Kaiser Craft... it looks so pretty - so here is my Christmas card in July!!

I've stamped the merry Christmas and embossed it with some black embossing powder.... my papers are by Melissa Frances and I've used some Fancy Pants die cuts.  Then all I've done is add a gold ribbon and some flowers, and also a yummy little fancy stick pin from Prima....

If your wanted to get ahead in your Christmas cards this year - then come and play along with us this week, and if your looking for some inspiration, then look no further than our challenge blog!!

Till next time

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #155

SURPRISE LOUISE

Good morning Magnolia friends.... today we have a very special surprise for our Magnolia Down Under Design Team Member Louise - who is expecting a baby - very very very soon!!!

We are having a Baby Shower!!!

Louise's baby will be the first born on our Design Team.... hahahha so we thought we would celebrate that fact and also mainly because of Louise - because we treasure her on our team and we know just how precious this little baby is!!!!

So first of all - we decided months and months ago that we would do this.... but we did run into a problem - how to keep it secret, and keep Louise completely in the dark about what we are doing...  so we planted a decoy theme!!! hheheheheheheheheh and then set about telling the rest of the Team what, Kylie, Debbie and I had planned for Louise... heheheheh

I tell you it really was secret squirrel business!!! LOL

So for my project this week, I have created a little Pram.... I took my inspiration from a Magnolia Ink magazine which featured one I think that Camilla S. made.... they have of course been around for ages, but they are so cute!!!!  So here it is, I hope you love it as much as me:-)

Here is a closer look at Baby Tilda in my pram.... I made my pram by cutting 2 circles out with my Cricut and then I cut a wedge out of each piece.  I then used a long peice of card and trimmed the edges so that it would curve around nicely.  My wheels are cut using a punch - one for the bigger and then a smaller one for the inside bits, then I've added some buttons!!

And this is the other side... WHAT how did I get Tilda the other way around you ask?  I used a mirror stamp.  Basically it's just a blank bit of rubber that you stamp onto and then stamp on your paper with that, and you end up with your image reversed or mirrored... very cool!!

And here is a top view of all the little flowers I used, the pram is just so pretty in real life:-)

And here is a pic of the back.  I used the Doo Hickey Lace boarder to make the fancy stuff... and some toothpicks to act like the folds in the hood... very cute!!  My hangle is made from twine, which I ran through glue to make it stiff.  I also added some charms to one side, like a rattle!!

So there you go, I hope you love my little pram, I did have heaps of fun making it!!

So we hope that you will come along and play in the celebrations this week at Magnolia Down Under for Louise's Surprise Baby Shower... oh and if your wondering on what to make... check out the gorgeous Inspirational Picture and think - Babies!!! LOL

Stamp: Magnolia Baby Tilda
Dies: Magnolia Doo Hickey Lace
Paper: Magnolia
Embellishments: Pearl Diamonte, flowers, maya road pin, twine, charms, toothpicks, buttons, pearls, stickles,
Colour: Copic!!

Hi Everyone

This week I want to showcase to you a Sara Burrier image - this one is called Sienna.  Sienna is a bit of a mermaid - I seem to have a bit of a thing for mermaids at the moment - just about all my cards are mermaids!! hahahah

I have created my own background mini paper - right behind Sienna - I did it with some distress inks, Mr Huey's spray in white (which dried kinda chalky??) then I stamped with a music stamp in some oil based stamp ink... apparently it's better when stamping on Distress Inks - so Mr Tim Holtz tells me!!

Anyway here she is I hope you love her as much as me:-)
