Art - because I said so!

 Hey There...

Today I have another scrapbook layout, but this one is a little different. I totally ventured into Mixed Media for this one... and it is a little bit messy but its Art.... why? because I said it was LOL

This photo is of our new kitten, Bonnie. She is a British Short hair and she is completely Blue! We love her, she is just so cute, funny and unlike any other cat I've ever had! She is also just a wee bit naughty too!

So I really don't know what I am doing with Mixed Media Art, but I am learning and making a bunch of mistakes at the same time. Its all good though and heaps of fun!

I thought I would be brave and enter my layout into a couple of challenges. The first one is
Mixed Media Place. and this is the mood board for my inspiration.

So I guess my inspiration came from the blue water, the soft grey, white shoes with the cut outs and dark blue, with a little green and pink sprinkled. to find out more about the Mixed Media Place challenge click on the link!

The next challenge I want to enter is Lindy's Stamp Gang April colour challenge - lucky me but these two challenges seem to work together!!  This is Lindy's Stamp Gang colour challenge and you can find all the information about it by clicking on the links!

I don't have a lot of pink or green in my layout but the other colours are there:-) To follow the rules of the challenge here are some links to the Lindy's Stamp Gang store with some of the products I used to create my work.

Wow... that's a lot of blue, and pretty much the only colour I have in sprays lol except for a couple of pinks and a purple. I do have all the new magical shakers though.... so pretty!

Here is a list of the others bits and bobs I used to create my page:

Cup Day

Hey There

Today I have a pic of me.... I know that never happens, but I actually do like this selfie... even more so because I got it printed in Black and White!!

I have a couple of Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays... not many as in maybe 8 lol (that is about to change when the postman brings them to me) so for this layout, I have used a Lindy's MoonShadow in Phantom Fuchsia and a little Lindy's Magical Shaker in Oom Pah Pah Pink. I love how it came out, so sparkly and shimmery.

My papers are Kaiser Craft - PS I love You Collection. I have also used a few Kaiser Die Cuts also from PS I love You collection. The flowers are a bit of a mix of Prima, Kaiser and Club Green. I sprayed the Kaiser and Club Green with my Lindy's Moonshadow in Phantom Fuchsia, so that they would match in with the spraying I did on my base paper. Gotta say, they looks so cool! My vine is a die from Sue Wilson. The butterfly is by Prima and I added a little Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Polish in Silver Hessian which has a slight pink tinge to it. The charm I picked up yonks ago at the Stamp Bug store in Somerset. I tried to tie a double bow with my seam binding... I did it so well it actually is a triple bow!! I also added a tiny bit of Distress Ink Walnut Stain to my edges of the die cuts and my photo. That also matches in with the Moonshadow spray which is brown but has the shimmer from the mica which is the Phantom Fuchsia! Hope you love it all as much as me:-)

Be a Flamingo

Today I have a little Mixed Media canvas to show you.  I found this at Spotlight in the fabulous finds for $5... bargain!

So I decided to use a couple of Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical shakers on it, they are the Oom pah pah pink, Cuckoo Clock Cardinal, and a tiny bit of Oktoberfest Orange.

My little canvas is meant to be water resist on the "Be a Flamingo in a flock of Pigeons" but it didn't really work so well with the magicals. I'm pretty sure the colour leaked underneath the water resist.  So you could see it, but it wasn't how it was meant to be. So to fix it and make it better I decided to emboss with some WOW pearl gold embossing powder. I got the powder to stick by using my Versa Marker watermark pen it worked a treat. I just had to be careful when I used it so I got a good definition on the letters.

So my photo isn't that great, it is a dull day here in Tassie today, but my canvas really is rather pretty with its bit of shimmer. Hope you like it, as much as me.

Another Easter Card

So I actually made 2 Easter Cards, and this one is for Ruby's Teacher's Aide.

Again this one is using Pion images from the past, Easter Greetings! I love these sheets that have so many cute little images on them. I think last year I used a different sheet that had bunny's on it. That was super cute too! But because I have only just started blogging again, I don't have pictures of everything I have made over the past 12 months or so.

Anyway this is kinda  newish style for me, kinda more traditional I guess. I definitely made those flowers, which is also a new skill I guess. Loads of fun, but kinda fiddly getting the center bud done. I love this Heartfelt Creations Die, Vintage Floret. I have a few others, but I think this one is my favourite.

So there isn't that much different on this card, other than I used Pion's 6x6 Easter Cherry Blossom paper... actually I think I used a square of this on the other Easter card too.... LOL anyway I really like the little gingham pattern, and I wanted the cards to be very similar but different. Anyway here is a list of what I used to create this card.  Pion Images from the past - Easter Greetings. Pion by the Cherry Tree, Pion pink 1 and Pion green 1. American Crafts Silver glitter card stock. Magnolia die, my new Magnolia personalised stamp, Memory Box die, Sue Wilson Fern trio die, Linen Tread, Cosmic Shimmer Gilding paste in Pearl Luster. Copic's and Gelly roll pen in Clear Star.

Easter Card

Hi There!

Today I thought I would share a couple of Easter cards that I have made for Ruby's teachers. This first one has a cute image from Pion papers - Images from the Past. I do love these sweet images and have used them for all sorts of cards, like Christmas, Wedding's and Baptisms! very versatile. Anyway I love how sweet this one turned out, and I hope you all like it too:-)

And I also ordered my very own personalised stamp from Magnolia!!  It arrived in plenty of time for me to use it on the back of my cards, so I was pretty happy about that. I love this particular stamp, there are bunch to choose from! It was kinda fiddly to colour with my Copic's as its tiny and I haven't coloured for ages either, but it did turn out ok!

Here is a list of what I used to create this card. Pion Images from the Past Easter Greetings, Pion By the Cherry Tree, Pion Pink 1 and Pion Green 1. American Crafts Silver Glitter card stock. Magnolia Die, Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret Die, Comic Shimmer Gilding Paste in Pearl Luster, Sue Wilson Fern die, Memory Box Die, Linen Thread, Copics, and Gelly Roll in clear star.
